The assistance of feeder-watchers is requested for the Miami Christmas Bird Count, to be held next Saturday, December 19. Though I'll gladly accept data for any and all bird species visiting feeders or otherwise seen in private backyards within the count circle, I'm especially interested in data for buntings, hummingbirds, Bronzed and Shiny Cowbirds, exotics such as Spot-breasted Orioles, mynas and parrots, irruptive species such as American Goldfinch or anything else considered out of the ordinary for the Miami area. No CBC fee is collected for data submitted by feeder-watchers.

The Miami CBC circle extends north into Carol City and North Miami Beach, south to Kennedy Park in Coconut Grove, east to Miami Beach and west into Hialeah. If you live within the boundaries of the circle, have backyard bird feeders and would like to participate, please contact me via email (brianrapoza@aol.com). Provide your address if you're unsure if your residence falls within the circle. I'll need you to submit (via email) a list of all bird species you identified by sight or vocalization on December 19, the number of individuals of each of these species tallied and the amount of time spent monitoring your feeders or backyard.

Email me if you have questions. I look forward to hearing from you!

Miami CBC Compiler
