This morning I heard but could not visually locate a Brown-crested
Flycatcher in Mosier Hammock at the Long Pine Key Picnic Area in Everglades
National Park. Also present were both Black-throated Blue and Black-throated Green
Warblers as well as at least two Ruby-crowned Kinglets. Pileated and
Downy Woodpecker, Northern Flicker, Blue-headed Vireo, Brown-headed Nuthatch,
Eastern Bluebird, Pine Warbler and Eastern Towhee were among the other birds
seen or heard in the surrounding pinelands. No sign of any of the Western
Spindalis present there this summer.
