I birded the fields at Lucky Hammock early Monday morning (11/30) and saw an unusual looking sparrow, which must be the Florida race Grasshopper Sparrow you guys saw. I was very impressed by the number of Grasshopper and Savannah Sparrows. What a great sparrow habitat!
Further down the road, I found a number of Eastern Meadowlarks, several of which flew up to the wires. (There were also Meadowlarks at the Visitors Center.) This was my second visit to Lucky Hammock (the first being the night before). Nice to bird it after reading so much about it here.
