Toe had spent the entire morning and afternoon complaining about the lack of good birds in Dade County. I had just reminded him that he has seen 291 birds in Dade County so far this year and that the Ducks should be arriving soon. Some of this was in Fun, but in reality Toe was very serious. How ironic to have Toe call me an hour later to come see not one more but two more Dade County year birds.....

There were many Red-breasted Mergansers in the Bay. It was flat calm and the air was steady making scoping at long distances a breeze.
No photos of the prize birds but I did snap a few while at the Canoe Launch.
