I spent a few hours this afternoon at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach. In back of the nature center I heard a Great Horned Owl calling and found it within a few minutes perched high on a Slash Pine. About ten minutes later, it's mate arrived, providing crippling looks. What a beautiful pair. It was hard to walk away from this sight. On the way out, in the parking lot of the nature center were 3 Sandhill Cranes. They were very acclimated to people and approached us to withing 5 feet.
