We found HUGE!!!!! numbers of sparrows next to Lucky Hammock, but it was very frustrating that the variety was limited to only 3 species. Toe finding the Dickcissel made this morning well worth the trip.
It was difficult going through all the sparrows trying to find something other than Savannah or Grasshopper. The Clay-colored Sparrow didn't give either of us good looks, but it responded to a recording vocally.
I'm sure something else good will show in those fields over the next month or so, so I'm planning to look there again soon.
