Our afternoon stroll yielded a first of season Yellow-bellied Sapsucker along with the rest of the birds seen yesterday. Tried and tried to turn a Ruby-crowned into a Golden-crowned but no such luck it is still a Ruby. There are more birds around today than yesterday, hopefully something good shows up soon. We heard from Toe and Trey that they had a Dickcissel at Lucky Hammock/Annex along with lots of Sparrows that seem to have shown up today. They had a Clay-colored and lots of Grasshopper and Savannah Sparrows but nothing else was found. Last night the radar was picking up returns heading into Miami, hopefully birders will be out this weekend looking for rarities. Can we wish for a Vermillion or Cassin's Kingbird? Maybe we are just hoping for one but we have been thinking about them way too much, maybe one or both will show up this year.

Wishful thinking!
