Yesterday while at the the Birds, Butterflies & Breakfast at the Doc Thiomas House we had a nice group of warblers, Blue-headed Vireo, and a Ruby-crowned kinglet interacting with the many gnatcatchers. Also see were Ruby-throated Hummingbirds feeding low in the yellow flowers in the Brookfield Hammock. The activity seemed to attract a light phased Short-tailed Hawk which glided down within thirty feet. It was a beautiful morning. The food was good too.
