The house next to me on the New River in Fort Lauderdale is in foreclosure and going for an excellent price. This is a very birdy area and its jungle like back yard is packed with birds. Especially Painted Buntings, Spot-breasted Orioles and different Warlbers during migration. I very much hope a birder will buy this house and I believe when we sell our properties we must think of the wildlife that depend on them and how the next owner will treat them. We've all seen beautiful yards cleared for swimming pools and lawns. I pray that won't be done to these bunting's winter grounds. I know this web site has international readers: the house is 1604 SW 5th Street, Fort Lauderdale, 33312 and is listed with Harbour Realty, 954-764-3939. It is a spacious, tri-level 4/2 on deep water with ocean access, 5 minutes west of downtown Fort Lauderdale. You may need to REALLY persists, as I think the sell of this house is messy.
