I just read that there are some new changes in the AOU and ABA bird lists. Here are the changes:
Rock Dove changed to Rock Pigeon
Band-tailed Gull changed to Belcher's Gull
White-winged Crossbill races in Haiti and Dominican Republic now split into Hispanolian Crossbill
Some Owl and Doves now have changes in genus (such as
Snowy Owl in genus Bubo)
Also big, unbelievable change,
there is now a taxonomic change in the order of ducks, geese, swans, quails, and grouse now in front of Loons and grebes in the overall list. We should see new changes in the new upcoming editions in bird guides.
