The Black-faced Grassquit put on an early show this morning along the Long
Pine Key Campground road. It was first seen this morning at 7:10 by birders
from Tennessee opposite the hammock singing from the top of some dead
sticks. It was very vocal and very cooperative while we viewed it there.
It then flew in the direction of the residence and sang from the brush next
to the residence. We left it singing at about 8:00 this was the easiest
sighting that I have had so far out of 6 visits. I have seen it 3 times out
of 6 visits, it can be very frustrating to find but when you do see it, the
looks are usually very good.
