Dump Marsh is located on the south side of SW 248 St. and east of 97 Ave., just south of the County landfill in Cutler Bay. From the turnpike, exit at 112 Ave. and go north to 248 St., turn east and take the right fork. It will take you to a dirt road that takes you straight to a gate to a wastewater facility. Park along the fence to the right. The Tropical Kingbird will usually be on the wires, but will also sit on the fence around the wastewater plant, or on the snags across the canal that runs south from the gate. Ther is a pond to the sout of the plant, and the kingbird likes to us the snags or wires to the west of the pond.

This may be the same bird that stayed in that area from November 08 to April of 09, and may be the same bird seen again a few miles south in July.
