Be very careful on this and use the LAtin name and not the "nick name" which is being taken over by some very bad people and practices.
We had these trees at Hoechoka Hammock and without fail they split in half at Hurricanes Rita, Kevin, and Wilma. It is a very soft wood but a very pretty tree when it flowers. It is an exotic, not native.
