Red Knot at Crandon Beach

A winter plumaged Red Knot is between lifeguard stations 10 and 11 late this morning (10/26). From my call to Toe (year bird) and when he arrived 3.5 minutes later, 8 Avocets flew in. Many of the Wilson's and most of the Black-bellied Plovers have moved on. There are 17 Lesser Black-backed Gulls and 3 Caspian Terns.
