For those Broward and West Dade birders that would like to meet up with our carpool leaving the Doc Thomas House at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24, 2009,our first stop will be the S-334 South Florida Water Management District structure just west of the Miccosukee Casino on the Tamiami Trail (US 41). We should be there at approximately 7:30 a.m. S-333, further west on the Trail, will be our second stop if you are running late. I will only go as far as Pinecrest on Loop Road this year so I can watch the UM/Clemson game at 3:30 p.m., so if you plan to continue on Loop Road you will be on your own. Has anyone been out their lately to check on water levels? This has been a very wet year and their may be sheet flow across the road, which could pose a problem for low-riding vehicles.Bring lunch, plenty of liquids, sunscreen and bug spray, Look forward to seeing y'all. Life is good..............
