I took advantage of the west-windy day to see what was at Evergreen Cemetery in Ft. Lauderedale. One ficus tree in fruit near the Huizenga mausoleum had common warblers plus female painted and indigo buntings and a female Baltimore Oriole. Raptors put on a good show with dark morph Short-tailed Hawks diving repeatedly from dizzying heights, Cooper's and Sharp-shinned Hawks wheeling by at treetop height and a Merlin whizzing by me after a Palm Warbler. He missed. Nice way to spend an afternoon. The Cemetery is north of the Hollywood airport. Take US 1 north 3-4 blocks past SW 17th street, turn right and all the streets dead end on the cemetery. No pun intended.
