Hi! I went out around 0830 this a.m. for my bike ride and was pleasantly surprised to see so many warblers! First, I saw a gorgeous Baltimore Oriole posing on a purple Hong Kong Orchid bloom. Then I started noticing the chirping throughout the Oaks and various large trees. I saw several of most species, but only one Magnolia Warbler in a Royal Poisiana. Others included the Black and White, the Black-throated Blue,Prairie,Palm,Northern Parula,American Redstart Warblers and most likely a Cape May. Two Coopers Hawks flew close overhead and for the first time I saw a Belted-Kingfisher perched on a wire not far from an artificial lake. The Monk and Yellow-chevroned Winged Parakeets were present as they usually are, as well as The White-winged,Mourning and Eurasian-collared Doves. Many other commonly seen birds were also seen making it a very enjoyable bike and birding trip! The area was between Metro-Zoo and South Dixie Hwy..
