Thanks again Larry, for showing me where the YB flycatcher was today. It really was easy! It also sat on a branch later right next to the concrete bench. Excellent views! I saw many other birds (and birdwatchers!) in that area, many of the same individuals in those great photos. I saw the scarlet tanager with the orangish vent in the photo- and earlier one with no orange but still black wings and tail. I trecked across Old Cutler and found some other stuff despite the noon hour. Some other interesting birds- a cooperative great crested flyctcher , several ruby throated hummingbirds and worm-eating warbler on the service road, two merlins in the field at the end of the road, some hill mynas, red shouldered hawk and a singing white-eyed vireo on the hammock trail. I thought it was strange to hear that bird in song at this time of year (and day). At the same time a yellow throated vireo sang a few phrases nearby too! Also seen two dark phase short tailed hawks, a broad winged hawk and the pileated woodpecker. All in all, a rather productive day.
