I had to be home this morning at 9:30, but I decided to give Barnes a brief look. I'm glad I did, since there was decent migrant activity. I arrived at 7:15 and could hear warblers in good numbers. By 7:30 the tops of the trees had enough light that you could make out the ID's. A little later Bill, Trey, Angel & Mariel arrived in that order. Most of the birds I saw were in the vicinity of a large strangler fig near the lake. Bill and I got 7-8 species in that same tree, and after about 20 minutes decided to check the other side.....of the tree that is! From the entrance to the park, go south and look for a play wagon thing with 4 old tires. The fig tree is just west of the wagon. I wish I could have stayed longer, but that seems to be a recurring theme for me these days. The gang stayed, so they'll be able to add more to the list. As I was leaving, Kevin, and Greg and Debbie arrived also.

Here's the list in 1 3/4 hours of birding:

Philadelphia Vireo
Red-eyed Vireo
Gray-cheeked Thrush

Nashville Warbler
Chestnut-sided Warbler
Tennessee Warbler
Magnolia
Northern Parula
Yellow-throated Warbler
Black-and-white Warbler
Black-throated Blue Warbler
Prairie Warbler
Ovenbird
American Redstart

Rose-breasted Grosbeak
Blue Grosbeak (in the tops of a tall fig, just where you'd expect them)
