I birded A.D. Barnes this morning and found many fewer birds than yesterday. Managed 9 species of warblers, an Eastern Wood-Pewee, and a Traill's Flycatcher. Almost everything was in the vicinity of the boardwalk.

After putting in my 9-5 at work, I stopped late at Matheson and added 2 more warblers, a Sharp-shinned Hawk, and a few hummingbirds, but the best bird was my FOTY Blue Grosbeak. Take the service road all the way till it opens up and go north around the stand of palms and cut back towards the hammock. Head north along the western edge of the hammock, which is pretty shrubby and open. There is a path between the hammock to the east and a grassy area with some trees to the west. Continue till you encounter a single palm on the right edge of the path. The female grosbeak was in the grass just to the right of the palm. It called repeatedly and came up halfway on a grass stalk, giving great looks. Even I couldn't miss it! Google Earth coordinates are Lat 25 deg, 41', 03.61" N, Long 80 deg, 16', 38.86"W.

I managed 11 species of warbler today, one better than yesterday, so I guess this migration is proceeding with baby steps. Hey, at this rate in two weeks I'll get 25 in one day!
Wow!!
