There was a nice collection of gulls today on an incoming tide. A count of 64 Lesser Black-backed Gulls was the highest for me at this location. On 18 August 2008 there were 53, probably associated with bands from Fay. There were 17 3rd-4th cycle graellsii, ranging from light-to-dark. One 3rd-4th cycle bird seemed within the intermedius color range (Kodak 11-13).

Other gulls and terns: Ring-billed (1), Herring (2), Great Black-backed (7), Laughing (47), Royal (55) and Sandwich (4). There were also Black Skimmers, Black-bellied, Piping, Wilson's and Semipalmated Plovers, dowitcher sp. and Sanderlings.
