What a treat to see something here I've never seen; a pair of Solitary Sandpipers stayed for 3 days at a rain created pond in the hollow. very interesting dihedral wing action when flying, high pitched calls, some tail wagging. Very unafraid. Some big birds moving in: Red-Tailed Hawk in oaks in Treetops Park, Great Horned Owl in slash pines on the ridge, more Ospreys calling over the lakes. BGGC's galore, YBSS everywhere. Some Nighhawks and one Whiporwill. One Summer Tanager female. Sadly, Risk Management decided to cut down all the pine snags and dead oaks everywhere on the 102 acre ESL, so I haven't seen the recently arrived Kestrels and Pileateds again!
