Toe and I went out this morning for a while hoping to pick up a year bird or two. Our first stop was at THE the C111e Canal. We found 8 warbler species including THE Kentucky. We also had a few shorebirds fly by. THE Killdeer, THE Solitary and THE Lesser Yellowlegs. We had THE Bobolink flocks flyby also during the morning as well. All of the warblers at THE the C111e were moving fast and it was difficult to get good looks at any of the birds.

We headed to THE Lucky Hammock and found only one more warbler species to add to the list. There were less in the way of numbers at THE Lucky Hammock but we did find THE Least Flycatcher on the east side of the road. At THE the Annex we found several of THE Alder Flycatchers and a few warblers but nothing new. On our way out we found THE White-tailed Kites and to our surprise THE Short-eared Owl in the field to the North
of 9336 across from THE Frog Pond (THE Lucky Hammock). I saw it flying we stopped and had good looks as it dove into the high grass after prey. We waited 20 minutes, but it never took flight again while we waited.

We went to find THE Black-bellied Plovers Larry THE MAN Manfredi had seen on Sunday near the Homestead Raceway, but they were gone. Next stop was THE Dump Marsh but found nothing to mention there except a bunch of Blue Land Crabs.

A quick look at THE Cutler Wetland offered little to add to the day list except a few dowitchers.

At THE Sadowski Park we had only a couple of species of warbler and THE Red-eyed Vireo then it began to rain and our day ended.
