According to the radar images from last night birds were moving inland. With winds coming from the south migrants slowed their progress over the southern portions of Dade. If we would have had some storms moving over us it would have set the day up for an awesome migrant birding day. Key West saw some strong storms over the night; we picked up pulses leaving the Keys meeting storms over the straights. These migrants seem to have made an about face and headed back to land in a hurry. Birds may be stacked up in the lower keys today given the densities that were present as the storms came over. Overall high densities of migrants flew over Miami last night; with nothing to bring them down we do not expect any concentrations in Miami.
Inland locations look best for birding Dade today, go out and look there may be a jewel in the ruff somewhere out there.
