A quick walk through FIU yielded some migrants today. BG Gnatcatchers must have come in last night as yesterday we only saw and heard three, today we had six in one tree alone. All together we had about 20 Gnatcatchers. We also heard a briefly saw an unidentified Empid, arghhh... ~60 Common Nighthawks were high in the sky migrating south, at one point we saw some drop down out of the clouds and join the others that were rising in a thermal. We have never seen nighthawks in a kettle; they looked like raptors rising into the sky riding the thermal.
A beautiful Yellow-throated Warbler gave us walk away looks as Toe likes to say. Lots of Barn and several Bank Swallows moving south, we also saw our first of season Ruby-throated Hummingbird, migrants have really started to move during the last two days up north; get ready.

Nature is Awesome
