On Saturday, I came across a Barred Owl on the road into Pa-Hay-Okee that was willing to pose for numerous close-up photos. It would perch in the small cypresses on the left side of the road, and it was clearly watching for small prey in the newly mowed grass on the berm. It dropped to the ground several times (unsuccessful at catching anything) and changed perches frequently (not because of me).
