For those not in the know, we started calling the hammock in Everglades National Park that the road bisects just as you enter the park "Payfee Hammock." This is NOT a Seminole name, like Pa-Hay-Okee...we called it that because back in the 70s there used to be a sign on the side of the road next to the hammock that said "Pay Fee."
The peacock sighting is interesting though because last March when I was leading a TAS-sponsored wildflower walk in ENP there was a peacock walking along the road swale just inside the park. Here bobcat...here kitty kitty kitty!!
