The fields are very weedy and most of the birds cannot be seen until they are in the air. When I was there there were hundreds of shorebirds, but until they took flight, you never would have noticed them there. None-the-less, it is still great to see all of those birds in one spot. Also, watch out for the Stilts which will dive-bomb you to protect their young. It is kinda flooded, but maybe the large amount of rain has added a few inches to water depth.
