Wakodahatchee provided sparse viewing today. There were few visitors but the easterly s/e/ wind made for a pleasant stroll. An immature green heron provided a photo op as did several swamp rabbits. Three black-bellied whistling dusks patrolled overhead in endless circles.
Not yet ready for prime time.

Green Cay sported a mother and seven baby black bellied ducks one of which was exceptionally bold and wouldn't stay in formation. The mom flew up to the board walk to watch the first group on the north side and keep an eye on the one on the south side. Also present were more moorhen babies than I have seen in years. most of the broods were 5-8 babies and they were all over. The youngest clutch was 7 days the oldest about to leave the parents. All togethre we saw about 150 baby moorhens. Quite a year for them. Also broods of purple gallinules. Coots were not in good numbers. Several birders reported prairie warblers in the west side cypress head but we had no joy. Again, a plesant stroll with moderate s.e. winds.

Loxahatchee: reported but not confirmed by me is three immature snail kites at Loxahatchee in the area by the "blind" east side berm. Parents are actively feeding them and the photographers reported good success for photo-ops since the rising sun would be to the back
