Just after the mid day showers a swarm of Swallows converged over FIU south campus. There were about 75-85 Bank Swallow, ~15 Cliff Swallow, and about 5-8 Cave Swallow (2 probable Mex. race). The two Caves were noticeably lighter or duller; the other Caves with them sported a much more vibrant color. The birds were making passes over the OE pond and working the airspace around the library, from the seventh floor of the library we had an awesome vantage point to observe the Swallows. We have to say it was awesome to see Swallows doing their thing at eye level which usually never happens.
We just started posting the radar at Badbirdz2 again; Now it's your turn, please come back and let us know what s out there, as this website functions best when it s a collaborative effort!
