A couple of months ago I met with two representatives from Palmetto Bay about this project and compiled a detailed listing of specific native trees to attract migratory birds, but encouraged them to consider resident birds as well.
I think they were both over their head as to what to do and how to go about this project, and most all of what they knew was what they'd read on the Internet, much of which didn't apply to South Florida. In a nutshell, it appears Palmetto Bay is interested in encouraging residents to plant trees and shrubs to attract migratory birds.
I doubt that you would need to be a resident of Palmetto Bay to attend the meeting, especially as a TAS representative, but the project is aimed at Palmetto Bay residents.
