The other day on the way to ENP I turned off of SW 217 Ave onto the dirt road (SW 384 ave) and headed west looking for shorebirds in the agricultural fields. With the usual Killdeer, there were about 15 Least Sandpipers. Large numbers of Barn Swallows are active over the area. I aso spotted a solitary Spotted Sandpiper. This bird was still in it's breeding colors, probably because it's still so early. Other shorebirds were spotted some distance away and couldn't be ID. The fields are sparsely vegetated, so the birds are easy to see.
