Yes, there are shorebirds near the Motorsports complex, but because of the high weeds they are hard to see in most places.
Immediately north of the actual race track is an unpaved, currently unused parking lot. It is fenced but the gates are open. Inside is a small puddle. Over the course of Tuesday afternoon it was visited by
pectoral sandpiper (2 dozen)
western and least sandpipers (many)
dowitcher (4)
black bellied plover (20)
semipalmated plover
solitary sandpiper
lesser yellowlegs
black-necked stilt

Motorsports staff plan to plow the fields in the next two weeks. Should bring more birds.
