I've seen spot-breasted orioles sipping nectar from male banana flowers, and they're adept at finding Brazilian skipper larvae too. Brazilian skipper larvae cut flaps on the leaves of cannas (their larval host plant) and fold it over themselves for concealment during the day. Orioles in my yard last year figured out that if they pulled the flap open there was a tasty morsel hiding beneath it.
