Once again, this phenomenon is human-induced. The Miami-Dade School Board has established so many "Magnet Schools" that it has certainly altered the local magnetic fields, and caused the birds to go elsewhere. Just think what it will be like when years of graduates of these schools, having learned to be good magnets, move to other areas. No one will see any shorebirds.
