It's summer and the wetlands are full of baby birds. Our first clutch of Black-bellied Whistling Ducks hatched, 6 little ones. We also have plenty of moorhen, gallinule, red-winged blackbird, green heron, grackle, and black-necked stilt young hanging around.
There have been 4 Roseate Spoonbill present daily as well as a few lingering Purple Martins. Oh and the Common Nighthawk is back this year and perching in the parking lots pines as normal. I haven't checked her usual nesting area yet.
