Just a reminder that today is the 104th anniversary of when Guy Bradley was murdered by Walter Smith near the Oyster Keys south of the Flamingo campground in Everglades National Park. Smith claimed self defense, which was corroborated by his two sons, and was never tried in court.
National Audubon Society was incorporated on January 5, 1905 and Guy Bradley met his untimely demise on July 8, 1905. His murder helped galvanize support for bird protection across the nation.
