Captain Toe let me tag along with his family for a quick trip out to the Gulf Stream. We headed out from Black Point Marina and made good time getting out being the conditions were favorable for boating. The winds hadn't been blowing out of the Southeast for long, but we did find some good weed lines and many Sooty Terns along the way. We also saw a few Bridled Tern and 6 Audubon's Shearwater. We thought we were going to miss seeing storm petrels when all of the sudden we had a single Wilson's Storm Petrel flyby.
No one hurled and we made it back in fairly early so it was a good trip even though we were disappointed not to see Leaches, Jaegers or a Black-capped Petrel, maybe next time.
Thanks for another fun trip...
Sooty Tern 20
Bridled Tern 4
Audubon Shearwater 6
Wilson's Storm Petrel 1
Magnificent Frigate bird 8
Brown Booby 12
Least Tern 1
Royal Tern 1
Captain Toe may want to revise my assessment of the trip. I wasn't keeping a good count, but it is in the ball park.
