I am a snowbird and, so, have not been to Loxahatchee any later than the beginning of May so I can't comment first-hand. But before I left this past spring, there were Snail Kites which appeared to be preparing to nest (if not already doing so) and Swallow-tailed Kites which had just begun to visit more regularly.

I've read here on TAS that there may be both species nesting onsite this summer.

The attached Google Map shows the areas that I would suggest you check.

If you ask at either the Ranger Station or the Visitor's Center, you might be directed to other good finds...Cooper's Hawk, Great-Horned Owl, and others. I don't think you'll find any Roseate Spoonbills (though I have seen them there in the winter).

Loxahatchee is a great photographer's destination as are the nearby Wakodahatchee and Green Cay Wetlands areas. Make sure to bring a long lens.
