Wood Duck, female, photographed on Stock Island, 6/23

I photographed a female WOOD DUCK in the shrubbery just off of College road, Stock Island, at 4:48 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23rd. It was in an area along a small pond at the edge of the golf course and was with a group of Muscovy ducks.

I apologize for the late notice. I am visiting from Santa Barbara, California, and was just informed by a fellow California birder that the Wood Duck sighting is unusual for this area.

I hope she is still there for others to see!
