I have noticed a few postings from some re:Starlings nesting in you Woodpecker boxes. As a purple martin landlord I battle starlings constantly. I thought you might be interested in a few links that may help you help our native cavity birds that are easily outbeaked by starlings.
Remember, they are invasive and not protected. They are not migratory so they will remain in the area as will the young and increase in numbers if allowed to nest in your boxes/roofs/trees cavities. They will kill nestlings, eggs and even adult native birds.
