I live on a lake in Davie and on Saturday afternoon, I was doing some gardening in the back and I finished weeding one large pot on my dock and I turned around and standing about ten feet from me were a pair of Whistling Ducks. Looking at the markings, the color of the bills and the feet, I determined that one was a male Black-bellied Whistling Duck and the other was a male Fulvous Whistling Duck. I went and got my camera and took some pictures.
About three hours later I found them on the lake behind a neighbor's house in the company of a male Wood Duck. I watch them for sometime and then all of a sudden the two whistling ducks took off with the Wood Duck close behind. They then flew north out of sight.
