Since the rains have stopped, we took a trip out to Yamato Scrub and discovered the south pond is back and there was a male Wood Duck on the island in the middle of the pond along with five Mottled Ducks. The Least Grebe Pond water level was back up to last fall's level, but there wasn't a bird to be seen. However, the osprey nest to the west of the pond was very active with the three fledglings standing on and in the nest very loudly squawking for the parents to feed them.
