Thanks everyone for all the info. I had a couple around my house last winter, but they didn't stay very long. This year, I put in some good hummingbird plants, along with other natives (coral bean, necklace pod, firebush) so I hope if they come around again, they might stay a while. I also got a feeder, although I heard they have not been too effective in south Florida. But, I will put it out anyway. I needed the info on their arrival to know when would be the best time to put the feeder out. I will let everyone know if I can get any in my yard. On a related note, I went to SE Arizona this July, and I think I got hummingbird fever. Amazing! We had 13 species in 5 days, with only the Allens and Berryline missed. It is a trip I highly recommend to any birder. Lot's of other stuff as well. I don't expect the same here, but an occasional Ruby Throated would be nice. My daughter would love it. Thanks again.
