Dan, Dynomite Trail is accessible from PowerPole 94. Although not locked this area does require a backcountry permit. It is part of the state park and the backcountry permit is obtained from John Pennekamp State Park office. John does state that his picture was taken from a publicly accessible trail but I believe he is mistaken. We did have a report that a cuckoo was seen at Dagney Johnson SP which is publicly accessible. We have seen them there in the past and I am sure they are there. I hope this helps. Good luck.
