Your bird is in breeding plumage while the one in March 2001 was much more difficult to ID as it was in winter plumage. I did get to see it for about 1 1/2 hours though. I never saw so many people look for the bird on that Saturday, (300-400). The beach was just lined with people. They all missed it. That afternoon a storm blew in and nearly everyone went home. A buddy and I hung around through Sunday and went out to Bolinas Bay which is protected from the ocean. We got great looks. Cheers and enjoy your great bird
