Went to Loop Rd. for the 1st time with another birder this morning. Great place with 3 types of habitats, pine, hammock and cypress swamp. Definitely want to go back. Thanks Brian Rapoza. After reading your "Birding Florida", was curious about going. Saw the following (birds on Loop Rd. only):

Anhinga
Double-Crested Cormorant
Great Egret
Green Heron
Black-Crowned Night Heron (immature)
White Ibis
Wood Stork
Black Vulture
Turkey Vulture
Swallow-Tailed Kite
Red-Shouldered Hawk (abundant)
Wild Turkey
Mourning Dove
Chuck-will's-widow (got very close to it as it slept on low branch)
Red-Bellied Woodpecker
Downy Woodpecker
Northern Flicker
Pileated Woodpecker
Great Crested Flycatcher (abundant)
White-Eyed Vireo
Blue Jay
American Crow (omnipresent and very noisy)
Tufted Titmouse
Blue-Gray Gnatcatcher (one was mobbing and dive-bombing a rs hawk while Titmouse scolded, very bold)
European Starling
Northern Parula
Pine Warbler
N. Waterthrush
N. Cardinal
Red-Winged Blackbird
Common Grackle
Boat-Tailed Grackle
