I just returned with a group from the Tortugas yesterday and thought I would give a quick update.
The Black Noddy continues to roost in Sea Lavender on Bush Key, left of the "Island Closed" sign and left of the tall snags where peregrines often perch. It can be scoped from the fort near the lighthouse, but it is actually closer if you scope from the corner to the north. I had heard that Bridled Terns were being seen on a buoy to the right of the frigatebird colony, but we never saw them. We did have a few on our crossing.
The only other noteworthy birds we had were a Glossy Ibis flying around the fort and an unidentified juvenile Tropicbird on our way out there. It never got close enough for conclusive ID, but it looked better for Red-billed than White-tailed.
Migration was non-existent due to the strong east winds, but there were a fair number of the expected migrants at the island that kept us entertained.
