I started my day an hour before sunrise on Anhinga Trail to wait for the Snail Kites to leave their roost. I heard King Rail early in the morning along with many other critters. Birds began to fly as soon as light began to show on the horizon.

My biggest surprise was two Wood Duck that flew by as I waited. I could clearly see a bit of a crest on one and a light eye patch. Shortly after I saw one Snail Kite flying just at the tree tops. Too low and it was too dark for photos, but I got my Snail Kite for the year in Dade County. I check Gumbo Limbo and found little to speak of so I headed to the Annex and found only Black Whiskered Vireo and Catbirds.

C111e was dead...

I decided to go to Matheson after hearing about the Cuckoo and the Swainson's Warbler. I was able to locate both. The Swainson's were not too cooperative but I did see them in the distance enough for ID.
