My wife Gayle and I went to Old Griffin Rd to look for the ani's this afternoon. As we arrived we met a gentleman who had just seen one on the north side of the canal, so we looked there and in the lots by the 800 building. We looked on several different times, all with the same result - nothing. On our fourth try we finally spotted two Smooth-billed Ani at 6:30 PM. They were out foraging in the open right by the intersection of NW 6th Ave and NW 3rd Terrace. One bird was about 15 feet away from the car and seemed oblivious to our presence. We left as they were still enjoying their dinner.

And as I left a grocery store at 9:30 tonight, I heard and then saw a Common Nighthawk flying over the parking lot.
